About Us

The Honbu Dojo (Main Dojo) in Toronto, Ontario was founded in 1965, making the Canada Goju Karate Association one of the oldest and most established organizations of it's kind.  In 2009, the Honbu Dojo re-located to Magnetawan, Ontario. In over four decades, the CGKA has grown to include many dojos in locations across Canada, with one internationally affiliated dojo in Germany.

Through the CGKA, the traditional teachings of Master Chojun Miyagi's Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate-do continue to be passed from generation to generation of Canadians.

As well as Traditional Goju Karate Instruction, many dojos also offer Tai Chi Chu'an (Yang Style), Kobudo (Okinawan Weaponry) and Self-Defense Programs.  Contact your local dojo for the program offerings in your region.
