The Kincardine Karate Dojo was founded in 1976 by the late Sensei Herb Hoenig. Sensei Dennis Fry assumed position of head Instructor in 1980. Renshi Steve Liddle took ownership of the club and has been Head Instructor since 1988. Respect for others is only one facet of how karate training can build positive life habits. Students can improve physical fitness, increase mental focus and strengthen self-confidence while learning valuable self-defense skills.
Renshi Steve Liddle began his martial arts path with Sensei Herb Hoenig in 1976, continuing with Sensei Dennis Fry from 1980 to 1988. He was graded to first degree black belt in 1982. In 2005, he was honoured with the rank of Rukudan (sixth degree black belt).
Renshi Steve and his wife Sensei Mollie continue to actively support CGKA Events and promote the study of Canada Goju Karate. Since the dojo was established, approximately 30 people have reached the black belt level.
The Kincardine Karate Dojo is located at 337 Lambton Street with classes Monday through Thursday. The Kincardine Karate Dojo built a new dojo in 2002 at their current location. The dojo has 1200 sq ft of matted floor training area with in-floor radiant heating including a workout area with mirrors, washrooms and showers.
